Self-Locking M18 Battery Mount Compatible with Milwaukee Packout

I designed this battery mount to be a simple solution for mounting a power tool battery to all of your Packout accessories. I accomplished two goals with this design. 1. I created a friction fit, tool-less mount that you can easily install, slap in a battery, and be on your way. 2. This one is IMPORTANT, this is a SELF-LOCKING mechanism, so when you install your battery, the mount can no longer just fall off, it is locked in at any angle (see video above for proof of concept). I didn't see a tool-less or screw-less design available that could also lock into place and not fall off, so I created this mount. 

Some things to note: When designing this mount, I discovered that my Packout lid from 2020 was slightly more snug dimension-wise than the one I bought in 2025. I made sure to design to the smaller of the two, so that it will be more snug on older systems. Since it has it's own lock-in-place mechanism, though, it is not a worry for either of the two, just something I wanted to disclose. The second thing to note - My brand New Forge 5.0ah Battery is a more snug fit than almost all of my other batteries. I think they may have been trying to take out some slack on these newer heavier batteries. It still fits the mount just fine (and even wears in a bit so it gets a little easier), but, note that the Forge style batteries may require two hands to remove from the mount, whereas I had no problem removing my older batteries with one. 

This part is 3D-printed out of a material called PCTG. PCTG is a great choice for tool mounts, offering a good balance of impact resistance and exceptional layer adhesion to prevent cracking or splitting under the weight of heavy batteries. This material works great in the workshop; it is highly resistant to oils and chemicals while maintaining its structural integrity in high-temperature environments where standard plastics might sag. Its industrial-grade toughness ensures a long-lasting, "snap-fit" reliable hold, providing the durability of polycarbonate with a sleek finish.
